The 15th century Dutch merchant ships brought herbs and plants from expeditions to lands afar. These exotic plants are carefully pressed, dried, and stored in herbariums, telling adventure stories of Dutch travelers. Inspired by the herbarium made from the local plants in her own garden, Dutch artist Nienke Sybrandy created the Royal Herbarium Fine Bone China Collection for Royal Dutch. Interpreting the plant element in royal blue, layering with gold details, the artwork of Nienke is simple and graceful, reminiscent of the herbariums glittering in the passage of time.
